What is it with me and O/S bugs?:   One of the GS1280s crashed over the weekend with a system service exception. This was a little unexpected to say the least. My major concern was that the issue was not caused by some flaky hardware, so I logged a call with HP to ensure that what I thought I was seeing in the crash dump and error log was really a software error, and not a hardware error in disguise. GS1280s under test:   After a little bit of screwing around with disks on the SAN, I now have the GS1280s configured as they will be when they replace the GS160s in the data warehouse. (146 words, 0 comments, 0 pings)

New GS1280s arrive:   Today we took delivery of two brand new AlphaServer GS1280s. They've been rolled onto the main floor and cabled in, and tomorrow we will have HP come on in to rearrange some PCI cards and power up the boxes. Hopefully by this time tomorrow they will be running UETP. (86 words, 0 comments, 0 pings)
