Disaster proof solutions video

You do not appear to have a Flash plugin installed. This movie demonstrates the disaster recovery ability of a number of hardware/software solutions from HP, with OpenVMS clearly leading the way.

This video was released by HP last week, and has now been put up on YouTube. The video demonstrates most dramatically the disaster survivability of a number of HP hardware/software combinations, with OpenVMS featuring prominently, and recovering the fastest.

OpenVMS rocks.

What has been noted in other places is that as VMS clustering is active-active then half of the users could have been on the system not blown up and therefore did not need to fail over. They would have noticed a short pause but nothing else.

You're right, Ian. In addition, hearing from the engineers at the site, they were even wondering why it took 13+ seconds to do the cluster transition...

Well, look on the bright side - even that crappy failover time made the other solutions look awful :)
