Technical Update Day 2008

I went out to HP at Rhodes today for the first of the two day OpenVMS Technical Update Days. I can only afford to go out to the first day this time, as work matters are pressing.

A good day with some interesting information. One thing in particular I learned was that the SDA extention PRF is capable of doing interesting things on the Itanium. In particular, it's capable of measuring CPU cache hit percentages. This is important when you are analyzing your application to see if hyperthreading under VMS will help you.
