Converting SANs to dual core

Who'd have thought it, but we are nearly out of core switch ports on the SAN fabrics that support the OpenVMS environment.

Last year, the plan was to integrate the OpenVMS SAN into the new enterprise wide SAN that is being built, but this didn't happen, mainly due to the guys concentrating on the x86 side of the house.

So, with the advent of the new AlphaServer GS1280s, and the always growing storage requirements of these clusters, I found myself today adding a new core switch to each of the fabrics.

I now have core redundancy (a nice side effect) and plenty of room to add additional edge switches.
