HP shows Carly the door

HP has asked Carly Fiorina to step down as chief executive officer. There had been some indications that this was on the cards when rumours emerged about HP's board of directors asking her to farm out some responsibilies, which she apparently resisted.

Now that she is gone, what will this mean to the future of OpenVMS?

HP has certainly bet the bank on the future of Itanium. What if the BoD decides that this is not the way forward? Potentially scary things could happen to OpenVMS...

At this time, the BoD's spokesperson and the interim CEO have said that they will maintain the current strategy in place.

We will have to see how it pans out. Damn those Chinese and their "may you live in interesting times" thing.
