Where have you been

I have spent the last month back in sunny Sydney, Australia, playing catchup with family and friends.

A whole lot of my friends are in a band that plays funk covers, plus a few originals. Funny how I got conned into doing a lot of sound stuff while I was there. I didn't mind though, and had a great time supporting them just by showing up at gigs. A nicer bunch of people you wouldn't find.

I was also invited to a blast of a New Year's Eve party and 40th birthday party by a great bloke that happens to be an American expat. The yank expat invites the aussie expat - I like the symmetry.

Another highlight was the first day of the fifth cricket test between Australia and England. I thought it would be hardly worth it, but as it was potentially Steve Waugh's last test in Sydney, the place was packed.

Unfortuately, England batted on the first day, and made a good go of it. Steve Waugh got his century on the last ball of the second day's play. Amazing.

I ended up back in freezing Sacramento rested and relaxed if nothing else.
